10 COMMON MISTAKES

On the language learning journey it's very frequent to try and translate from our own first language. Translating sometimes works to our benefit but more often to our detriment. I always encourage my students to speak and make mistakes rather than clamming up because they learn from them, but here are some common, repetitive phrases that should be said correctly.

CORRECTION

We are three in the team.

There are three of us in the team.

Sorry for my late.

Sorry for being late or Sorry I'm late.

It's too much expensive.

It's too expensive or It's too much.

Let's keep our finger crossed.

Fingerssss! Let's keep our fingers crossed.

He's a UK guy.

He's a British, an English guy or He's from the UK.

I'm agree.

I agree or I'm in agreement (more formal)

I will exercise my English.

I will practice my English. Good!

The meeting was very strong.

The meeting was very difficult/tough.

We want to make more business.

..do more business and make more money!
